- Prof. Matthew TURNER
Matthew Turner is currently a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto. He is broadly interested in understanding the interaction between economic forces and the environment and is particularly interested in urban economics and the economics of land use. He holds a bachelors degree from the University of California, a Ph. D. in economics from Brown University, and has held post doctoral fellowships at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Hoover Institution. His research has appeared in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Review of Economic Studies, among others. His recent research on urban sprawl and land use has been featured in The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, Canada's Globe and Mail and Discover Magazine, among others.
