Nostrum-DSS Guidelines

The Guidelines aim is to contribute to an improved design, development and application of suitable DSS tools for IWRM in the Mediterranean region.
The Nostrum-DSS Guidelines are structured into two sections. The first section is designed as a checklist and provides recommendations useful when approaching the issues related to an effective development of a water policy or a water management process through the use of DSS tools.  The second section, entitled "Policy Background", lists recommendations summarising the main principles of the international water policies.
The Guidelines are envisaged as the entry door to the products of the whole CA, but also to a much broader resource environment, that can be accessed through a system of web links, which are active when the Guidelines are consulted from the Nostrum-DSS web site, but also after local downloads of the pdf version. Therefore the Guidelines are designed as a stand-alone component, but they are embedded within the Meta-Guidelines web based tool.

Tools for Planning and Management

The NetSyMoD web site is aimed at facilitating the dissemination of information in the field of planning and management of natural resources. The focus is on the role played by Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and, in particular, on decision and information support tools (DISTs) such as integrated assessment models (IAM), geographical information systems (GIS) and decision support systems (DSS). Target users are researchers and policy/decision makers who may find in particular information about the products of recent research projects.
