Disciplinary analysis to improve water planning and management (WP Leader: ICS-UNIDO), subdivided into three main research streams: economics of the water cycle; social issues in water management and environment and the water cycle. To achieve its objectives, this work-package first of all assesses the state of the art in the Mediterranean, related to three main approaches to IWRM, within the context of Dss use. In a second stage, the disciplinary analyses are integrated. The first part of this WP is carried out together with WP2, and the structure of implementation of this WP mirrors WP2. An outcome of this work-package is a Thematic Workshop organised by CEDARE in February 2006. This Workshop focuses on the outputs reached through the work-package.

Expected results: multi-disciplinary approaches to the design, development and implementation of Dss tools in IWRM identified.
