Biographical Statements of Keynote Speakers and Discussants
Dr. Marian LEIMBACH
Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Germany
Marian Leimbach studied Economics and Information Management. His main research fields are environmental economics, mathematical and computer modelling of economic and social systems, integrated assessment of global and climate change, endogenous economic growth and induced technical change. Since 1992 he has been Research Assistant at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and from 1996 to 1999 Deputy Head of the Global Change & Social Systems Department. Recent projects are: 'Integrated Assessment of Climate Protection Strategies' (development of a multiregional economic growth model); 'Europe in the Context of Global Change' (economic modeling); 'Potsdam Integrated Assessment Modules', (development of numerical coupling algorithms) and 'Strategic Portfolio Analysis for Mitigating Climate Change under Opportunity, Risk and International Co-operation' (multi-region modelling).
