Workshop structure
The workshop will be organised as a round table discussion with sessions dedicated to individual aspects outlined above. To stimulate discussion, the sessions will start with an invited speech given by an internationally recognised expert in the given field. The aim of the invited speeches is to give a concise overview of the state of the art and pointing out the outstanding challenges. Approximately 45 minutes will be allocated for the presentation of the paper.
The invited participants are kindly asked to submit position papers, aiming to contribute a specific position to the discussion. Position papers should contain novel aspects, summarising key insights and relevant research results. Radical and unconventional ideas are welcomed. Papers may be at most 5 pages long, but also shorter papers (1 — 11/2 pp) are welcomed.
- The position paper definitively should not attempt to be a conference paper, but rather a paper that poses questions that may be discussed.
- The paper should show that the author(s) have a good knowledge of the topics proposed for the workshop and that they can contribute to the discussions.
- It should address open issues, focus on new speculative approaches, or take up a controversial issue.
To encourage fruitful discussions, the participants should be able to focus on a small set of related subjects. Too large a set of widely divergent interests will not encourage useful discussion.
The number of participants is limited to ca. 15-20.
