Juan-Pablo Montero is Associate Professor of Economics at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (PUC) and Research Associate at the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from PUC and M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from MIT. He has also been a visiting professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management (2001-2002) and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (2005-2006). His research and teaching concentrates in the areas of resource and environmental economics and industrial organization. His work has appeared in the Journal of Political Economy, American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, RAND Journal of Economics, The Economic Journal and others. He has also been a consultant for government agencies and private corporations in Chile and abroad in topics of antitrust and environmental policy.
