Faculty - 2018 EAERE-FEEM-VIU European Summer School
Christian Traeger is Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Oslo, Norway, and Research Director at the Center for Energy, Climate, and Exhaustible Resources at the CESifo Institute for Economic Research, Munich, Germany. He studied Economics at the University of Heidelberg and holds an MA in Physics from SUNY Stony Brook. After his PhD in Economics, he spent his early career at the Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics at UC Berkeley. Traeger's research focuses on environmental economics and decision theory, with a particular interest in dynamic systems, uncertainty, long-term evaluation, and climatic change. Traeger is on the editorial board of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and he is currently authoring a book with Larry Karp on Dynamic Methods in Environmental and Resource Economics. Traeger has been honored with the Distinguished CESifo Affiliate Award and the Dulger Prize of the University of Heidelberg.
