Erik Ansink is a senior researcher at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM), VU University Amsterdam. He obtained his MSc and PhD degrees at Wageningen University. His dissertation was on game-theoretic models of water allocation in transboundary river basins. Since then, he has continued his research on the economics of water allocation. A second major research topic is natural resource management by local communities. He is involved in several European research projects on these topics and has published in leading field journals.
